Meet alaska

Alaska is an adorable, petite, Poodle mix who is ready for a brand new start in life. She truly deserves a “do over” as things weren’t easy for her but she never wavered in her love for people through it all. She is approximately 3-4 years old and weighs about 10 lbs. Alaska is very quiet but she’s a fairly confident gal in her own way. She doesn’t seem to know what toys are but I’m sure she could learn. She has never met a person she doesn’t like either! She’s good with most other dogs but selective with a few. She’s learning sit and down and she is definitely smart! She’s hesitant on the leash but learning. Alaska does require eye drops (tacrolimus) for dry eyes, on a daily basis. This will require a prescription from your veterinarian. We give you a several week supply at the time of adoption.

Like many of our rescue dogs, we are not sure how well housetrained Alaska is. But with gentle persuasion, some consistency, structure and praise he should be easy to train.

Alaska is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks.

Alaska’s adoption fee is $450

This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue! If you would like to be considered to for this adoption or any of our amazing rescues, please fill out the application with the help of this link. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/AZST/Dog.

We review each application carefully. Please understand that sometimes we get numerous applications for specific dogs and as a volunteer-based rescue, we do not always have the time to respond to each one. We do our best to choose the most suitable home for each dog based on their specific personality and needs. Please note you MAY NOT be contacted for up to 10 days to schedule a meet and greet if your family is the most suitable for this rescue dog. Regrettably, we do not have the manpower currently to contact all applicants. We keep ALL applications in our database so please feel free to contact us when you see another dog of interest. We appreciate all applicants and do our best to pair every dog and family for a successful and happy life.
