Boudreaux is a Shih Tzu puppy and is such a fun, silly little guy! He is a little shy, but when you get down on his level he is happy to sit in your lap and cuddle. He’s spunky and playful but settles down in your lap or in his bed. He loves toys and playing. He’s happy playing and sleeping with other dogs or independently especially when humans are around. He’s eating and drinking well, and doesn’t complain about taking a bath. He a pretty quiet little guy and hardly barks at all.

He’s respectful of other dogs and their food, and learns quickly with a little warning if needed. He is curious about cats but isn’t interested in chasing or playing with them. He likes sleeping in bed with a person if given the opportunity, and sleep all night, not moving a bit. He is going potty outside when taken out and getting the hang of pee pads inside. He is not yet good at asking to go out, when he needs it. He has been around older kids, but will likely be great with littler ones. He does jump but being so little it shouldn’t make a huge issue, since he learns quickly. He doesn’t mind trips in a car,

A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters:
Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:

✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.

✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).

✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.

The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.

Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.

Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.
