Za’atar is a three-year-old, 14-pound white and gray Shih Tzu mix with a gentle heart and a resilient spirit. When he first arrived, he looked healthy on the outside, but a thorough exam revealed he was quietly battling skin fungus, an eye ulcer, a respiratory ailment, and more. For two and a half months, Za’atar endured treatments and medications like a true champion.

Through it all, he remained sweet, affectionate, and full of quiet hope. Although he will always require eye drops for his dry eye and is on a special diet, Za’atar is ready to leave his medical struggles behind and focus on what he truly wants: a forever home.

He is officially applying for the important role of personal companion and devoted lap dog. Za’atar promises loyalty, warmth, and plenty of cozy cuddles in return.
