1.5-year-old, female, Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix, about 18 pounds. This girl just wants to have fun! She is a bit higher energy and would love room to move and a friend that matches her energy (or someone willing to play with her)! She currently lives with 4 other dogs, a cat, chickens, pigs, budgies, and a bearded dragon. She’d do best with a dog savvy cat and further training with other animals cause she will want to play with them. She’s not what I’d call a lapdog, but loves to please, and is affectionate. Definitely trainable and pretty darn smart. She is a follower and will take behavioral cues from the other dogs she lives with. She’s working on not jumping up and not being reactive to people/noises at home (she’s not reactive on walks or in public). She goes into her crate with treats. Walks well on a leash and we’re working on gaining confidence on walks. She’s young, spunky and worth it! To request an adoption application, email smidgetrescue@hotmail.com

Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
