All interested people should submit an adoption application as their first step. Hi there… my name is  Tootsie Roll.   Yes, like the candy. Sweet, a little round, and impossible not to love.  I’m a proud 9-year-old lady weighing in at a delightfully plump 38 pounds of pure snuggle material. My favorite hobbies include napping, lounging, supervising from a comfy bed, and perfecting the art of doing absolutely nothing. I am, as the humans say,  the chillest dog ever. My world changed recently when my beloved owner had to move into a nursing home. It was very sad for both of us, but I know she would want me to find another cozy place to rest my head and another kind human to love. I have so much love left to give. Let me tell you a little about my vibe: • I sleep most of the day (beauty rest is important at my age). • I get along with other dogs just fine… as long as they understand I am not interested in CrossFit or WWE wrestling. If someone gets a little too rowdy, I’ll politely say, “Excuse me, that’s enough,” with a tiny growl — and then go back to my nap. • I absolutely adore people. I’m friendly, gentle, and happiest when I’m simply near you. I’m not looking for adventure. I’m looking for companionship. A soft couch. A warm lap. A quiet routine. Maybe a nice older person or couple who also appreciates a slower pace of life. We could watch TV together. Take short strolls. Share snacks (I mean… you can have most of them).  Because I’m a mature gal, a home without a lot of stairs would be ideal. My little legs prefer comfort over cardio these days.  If you’re searching for an easygoing best friend who just wants to hang out and love you with her whole chocolatey heart, I might be your girl.  All pets adopted from GDHS are spayed or neutered, have vaccinations brought up to date, are on heartworm preventative (dogs), FIV/FELV tested (cats) and microchipped.
