Meet baby groot

Meet Baby Groot! This 5-month old easy, breezy puppy came to us from our friends at local animal control after being found as a stray, and there is no guarding the galaxy from this mischievous toddler! Baby Groot is just a realllly good puppy with a cuter-than-cute personality…incredibly social, gentle (no mouthing!), and the perfect blend of goofy and smart! He is currently making himself right at home with his foster mom and pittie sister while perfecting his crate and potty training. Groot is the best friend anyone could ever desire in the big, wide galaxy. He is super-duper treat motivated, a great listener, and eager to please, so continued training should be a piece of cake. He has played well with all the dogs he has met, walks great on a leash (especially with another dog to show him the ropes), and sleeps through the night. Like a stealth house panther, he stalks his foster sister before pouncing to play but will stop mid-pounce if asked. We think he is practicing the possibility of fighting against cosmic threats and keeping the people of the universe safe and sound.  Baby Groot is big-boned and has the most adorable underbite and the meatiest paws around. And that rogue ear…it never goes down and never gets old. He is a classic shadow puppy and bona fide potty escort. You will never pee alone again! Baby Groot is a loyal and sentient being who peacefully LOVES to snuggle and will gladly snore right into your ear. And now, he needs a guardian all his own! "I am Groot."  Puppies are soooooo cute, and puppy breath is THE BEST! But puppies can be a lot of work and take dedication, patience, love, training, and real commitment to turn them into amazing adults. A friendly reminder that our adoption requirements, including enrollment in an approved puppy training class, are posted on our website at: cropsandflopsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-policies/ Baby Groot’s top 3 priorities: 1. A family of snuggle horses – one who is content to snuggle up to binge watch, well, just about anything! 2. A family who works from home or spends most of their free time at home, and who wants the dog to be part of the action.  3. A family. Seriously. Baby Groot would likely love a canine playmate but would fit into so many different types of families as long as he’s loved.March 8, 2026, 12:27 pm
