Athena is a 4 year old, female, Bull Dog mixed breed. Please note: Athena is in a foster home and can be met by appointment only. E-mail our team at HeartofRIAdoption@gmail.com to request a time to meet her. It took us awhile to write Athena's bio because we had so many great things to say about her. Between her squishy face, loving personality, and heart breaking backstory we truly can't explain what an amazing dog she is. We think that Athena spent most of her life tied up outside watching the world from the end of a chain and waiting for someone to notice her. Despite all that she has been through, she is still open to love and companionship. She has no resentment and she just simply wants to feel safe, loved, and included. She proudly carries her squeaky toys, does well with other dogs, and keeps a hopeful eye on you in case it means she gets to tag along. Athena is ready for a home where she will never be left behind again. She can't wait to find a home where she can rest her head on your knee, follow you from room to room, and love you endlessly. ADOPTION INFORMATION

HOW TO GO ABOUT ADOPTING:
- Come in during adoption hours to apply and fill out an application completely. We have applications on site. Open adoption hours take place at 44 Worthington Road in Cranston, RI. We are open every Wednesday 3-7pm and Saturday 10am-2pm.

- We require proof of homeownership (tax form, deed, mortgage statement) or landlord approval (a copy of your lease that clearly states you are allowed to have a dog, puppy, cat, or kitten OR written and signed consent from your landlord.
- We require copies of up to date vet records for any current pets.

Helpful reminders:
*We do not do same day adoptions.
*Please bring the entire family in to meet the animal you are interested in.
*We will setup a meet and greet with your dog at a later date. PLEASE do not bring your dog with you when you come in to apply.
