Meet perla honey the snuggle ready sweetheart

Some dogs make a big entrance… and then there’s Perla Honey, who quietly sneaks into your heart before you even realize what happened. She has the softest little presence, paired with an undeniably sweet personality that makes you want to scoop her up and tell her she’s perfect (because she kind of is). She has this adorable way of inching closer and closer for attention, offering tiny nudges and soft eye contact like she’s politely asking, “Excuse me… may I have some love?” And once the pets start, she melts right into them. Perla Honey is all about closeness, cozy moments, and simply being near her favorite people. She’s calm without being boring, sweeter than a snickers, and has just enough personality to keep you smiling every single day.

Perla Honey is believed to be a German Shepherd mix approximately 4 years old and currently weighs 55 lbs. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it’s always a mystery and we can’t guarantee breed or age.

The first thing you’ll notice about Perla when you meet her is that she has such a sensitive, tender little soul that makes you want to scoop her up and shower her with all the love in the world. She can be a little shy at first in new environments and when meeting new people, but once her initial shyness fades, Perla is all about gentle kisses and calm, comforting vibes. One way to this girl’s heart is through quality time. It’s absolutely precious the way she takes the tiniest little steps toward you, almost like she’s trying to be as quiet as a mouse. She’ll lean into you ever so slightly and look up at you with those gorgeous hazel eyes, silently asking for affection. Her soulful gaze has a way of making you instantly melt and fall head over heels for her.

While Perla may be a bit of a slow burn when it comes to warming up to new people, she’s the complete opposite with other dogs. She can be a shy girl at first when meeting new dogs but it does not take her long to open up and feel comfortable around her canine pals. She has a gentle play style and is so sweet and tolerant even around young youthful pups. Perla enjoys romping around the yard with other dogs, playing a game of “tag, you’re it,” and occasionally engaging in a little rumble-and-tumble wrestling session with the right match. Because she blossoms so beautifully around other pups, we would absolutely love to see Perla in a home with at least one other dog. She opens up quickly with her canine companions and would likely thrive in a multi-dog household.

Perla also met our house cat, Biggie, and handled the introduction beautifully. She was respectful and appropriate, didn’t chase him, and wasn’t bothered by typical cat behavior. Biggie felt comfortable around her as well. We don’t know if she has ever lived in a home with a cat before, as this was our first time seeing her interact with one. If you have a cat at home, we’re happy to arrange a kitty sleepover upon request, just let us know!

Perla would thrive in a home that appreciates life’s quieter, simpler moments. A home that isn’t focused on being the party house of the neighborhood, but rather one that values cozy evenings and meaningful companionship. She would love leisurely neighborhood walks and curling up beside you at night. If you work from home, Perla would be perfectly content settling at your feet, quietly keeping you company, never getting into things she shouldn’t, and occasionally glancing up at you or resting her head gently on your leg for a little nuzzle, almost as if she knows you need a five-minute breather from your screen.

She is not high energy and does a beautiful job matching the energy of the room. We can easily picture Perla enjoying porch sitting as a favorite hobby, happily watching the world go by right beside you. We believe she would be happiest in a home with a backyard rather than an apartment in the middle of a busy city. She truly embodies relaxed, peaceful vibes. Perla also is a smart girl and already knows a handful of basic commands such as sit and shake and she is mastering her leash skills. Perla is crate trained, potty trained and has shown to have wonderful house manners.

Perla isn’t just looking for a home, she’s looking for her family. The ones who're ready for a steady, loyal companion who will greet you with a wagging tail, settle in beside you after a long day, and quietly become the best decision you’ve ever made. She’s the kind of dog who doesn’t need to be flashy to stand out. Her goodness speaks for itself. If you’ve been waiting for that easygoing, well-mannered, dog-friendly, lover girl who feels like she’s always been yours… this is your sign. Perla is ready to start her forever chapter, all she needs now is you.

We are willing to test Perla Honey with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know.

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+.
