Meet paisley

From one of our volunteer dog walkers: ` Meet Paisley — One Ear Up, Ready to Level Up ????Paisley was calmly laying on her bed when I approached her kennel — the kind of quiet presence that doesn’t demand attention but still notices everything. She got up a little unsure, then slowly came closer. While I was leashing her up, there was a small hesitation… which is completely fair. We had just met, and honestly, I hadn’t even introduced myself properly yet.Heading out of the building, Paisley showed something really lovely: instead of barking back at dogs who were loudly sharing their opinions, she simply moved to the opposite side of me, clearly choosing to avoid conflict. Smart girl.Outside, however? Immediate plot twist. She jumped on me right away — but let’s be honest, she had excellent reasoning. I was clearly hiding hot dogs in my treat pouch, and Paisley figured we should skip formalities and proceed directly to snack distribution. So we established some boundaries:No jumping ? hot dogs appear.Jumping ? hot dogs mysteriously disappear. It took her a little time to understand this highly advanced system, but once she did, she seemed to genuinely enjoy playing by the rules.Paisley walked nicely on leash, though you can tell confidence is still a work in progress. She approaches the world thoughtfully rather than boldly. Along the walk, she politely approached a couple to say hello — calm, respectful, and sweet. She took treats gently (unless hot dogs were involved — then excitement levels rose appropriately). In the yard, she was a bit shy about posing for pictures… but admit it — that one ear standing up is ridiculously cute.Paisley feels like a dog who just needs patience, consistency, and structure to truly blossom. With the right guidance, she has strong potential to grow into a confident, well-rounded companion. She’s already trying. She just needs someone willing to help her finish the journey.Honestly… I think she’s going to be a really special dog for someone. ????`
