Meet zoe

Zoe
Catch phrase: “Can I take a mulligan on that shot?”

Vibe Check:
Country club stalwart. You can catch her on the back nine with Marge, swearing at the sand traps, throwing her pitching wedge in frustration, and having hot flashes. But until she knows and trusts you, she just sits back, sipping on a mint julep, giving you side eye and silently judging.

Fun Fact:
Polish Lowland Sheepdogs believe in truth in advertising: They originated in Poland and were bred to, well, herd lowland sheep.

Rescue: Albert’s Dog Lounge
Age: Senior. Think Mrs Smails from Caddyshack. Good golfer, a bit pretentious, dresses well, but still likes to have fun if the situation presents itself.
Weight: 57 lbs of practical, solid, and fluffy

Health Notes (HIPAA who?):

Zoe is in remarkable shape for her age!
• Currently taking doxycycline for Anaplasmosis, but will be done soon
* A teeny bit of a dribble now and then despite being perfectly housebroken and take Proin daily (don't judge, if you have had a kid and are over 40, you dribble too, sister!)
*Reported history of allergies and a possible heart murmur, but neither of these are present right now and she is not medicated for either of these

Current Residence:

Hartland, WI

Activity Level:

Low-key. Enjoys a good walk. Will walk the fairways on days that her stiff leg isn't acting up. Take a golf cart on those days.

Social Skills:

Dogs? Yes please.
Cats? Acceptable
Kids? If you have hands and give pets, you are approved.

Sleep Style:

Dog bed or cool hard surface. (Do dogs get hot flashes?)

Dining Preferences:

Simple Food Project, one cup, twice daily.

Bark-O-Meter:

2/10.
We don't get loud on the golf course. We golf clap. And we quietly alert you that we need to potty outside. But not on the golf course. Maybe in the rough. Keep your scooper handy.

Shedding Meter:

1/10.
Be prepared to brush my luxurious locks. I came in kind of a hot mess and had to be groomed, so expect my flowing mane to be even more fabulous over time.

Fashion Sense:

Golf skirt, a collared polo, and a sun visor. On chilly days, a vintage vee neck golf sweater completes the look. On less chilly days, I wear it knotted around my neck. I enjoy a bright pastel color palette, I believe name brands make the woman, and I am an icon.

Signature Color: Melon, turquoise, and yellow argyle

Walk-Out Song: "Rich Girl" by Hall and Oates. "Sister Golden Hair" by America. "Still the One" by Orelans. You know what? Just set your radio to Yacht Rock. It is a vibe.... just like me.

Love Language:

Golf, gin, and gossip

The Part That Matters Most:

Zoe was slow to decompress into her new situation but is coming out of her shell daily. This is not terribly surprising, as she lived her whole life with a human who adored her, right up until he had to go into assisted living. This has been a real change for her. She would benefit from a family that will make her an integral member of their home: taking her on regular walks or just chilling outside and enjoy the smells.

She does enjoy walks and has a decent pace for an older lady, but you can see a little stiffness in her legs sometimes. This does not slow her down. She will learn the boundaries of her yard and stay in it, unless there is a deer to chase away. Bizarrely, she integrated herself into a flock of turkeys at her old home. Watch her at Thanksgiving time.

Spayed
Microchipped
Potty trained and will talk to tell when it is time
Good on a leash
Crate trained, and eats meals in one, but does not enjoy
OK on car rides, and getting better as she decompresses
UTD on vaccinations
UTD on preventatives
