Meet Ryder! 🐾

Ryder is a loyal, expressive Belgian Malinois Shepherd mix puppy who absolutely loves life and can’t wait to explore the Pacific Northwest with you! An avid birdwatcher with an elegant stride, Ryder is an outdoor enthusiast who thrives on fresh air and adventure. At 6½ months old and 50 lbs, he still has just a hint of that irresistible puppy smell.

Mostly jet black with touches of grey on his legs and between his toes, Ryder has ultra-soft, pointy ears, a healthy, sleek coat, and some truly hilarious facial expressions. His movement is just as entertaining—he takes his exercise seriously, especially his legendary “big stretch,” and is an impressive little contortionist with yoga-level flexibility.

Ryder is an intelligent, curious boy with a strong nose and a blossoming love for following scent trails—he would be an excellent candidate for scent work or nose games in the future. He’s eager to please, highly food-motivated, and loves engaging with his people.

Ryder loves:
• Kong and Chuck It toys
• Frozen lick mats and frozen snacks
• Watching birds, bunnies, and squirrels in the park
• Happy dancing when you get home
• Riding in the car
• Getting dried off with a towel after rainy walks
• Snuggling up with you after a long adventure
• Playing tug and chasing his ball (fetch is still a work in progress 😉)

Ryder genuinely enjoys training and has already been working on heel, sit, down, place, and stay, and would love to continue learning with a committed adopter—rain or shine.

Ryder’s foster, Matt, a professional trainer with Tailored K9 Solutions, has him enrolled in a Trupanion pet insurance policy, which may be transferred to the adopter at the time of adoption if desired.

While all Malinois are remarkable dogs, Ryder truly stands out with his uniquely happy temperament, snuggly side, and endlessly entertaining mannerisms—he’s one of those dogs you simply have to meet to fully appreciate.
