Meet Author, a delightful puppy full of life and love. Author and his brothers Orison, Michael, and Benedict and sisters Divinity and Angel want to meet you! These are typical puppies with typical puppy behavior - like chewing on stuff, playing with each other, playing with toys, playing with people and just playing in general! Author’s sweet, friendly nature makes him a joy to be around. Gentle yet playful, he adores cuddling after a long day of fun. He has boundless energy and a particular fondness for squeaky toys. Playing with his siblings is his favorite pastime, showcasing his sociable spirit. As the pups are so young, they are just getting started on potty, crate, and leash training but think they will pick up these skills quickly as they seem very smart. They are playful with other dogs and kids and even seem ok with cats that they like to chase in playfulness. Author, or one of his littermates, would make a wonderful addition to any family looking for a loving and lively companion to bring joy and laughter into their home. Medical Note: This puppy was born to a mother dog who was positive for heartworm disease and had circulating microfilaria.  Microfilariae can be transmitted from mothers to unborn puppies through the placenta; these worms, however, will not develop in the puppy into adult heartworms because the heartworms must pass through a mosquito to fully develop.  Microfilariae may live up to two years within the host dog in whom they were born, but they should be eliminated when the puppy received its first dose of heartworm preventative.  This puppy has been given heartworm preventative regularly while in SOS care, but to ensure that any remaining microfilaria are fully eliminated and the risk to other dogs (via mosquitos) is minimized, SOS recommends that the puppy be kept on Advantage Multi or Parasedge (imidacloprid + moxidectin) for monthly heartworm preventative for at least the first three months after adoption.  This product provides protection from heartworm disease as well as fleas, but another tick preventative (oral) should be used.
