Meet slugger
I am helping my mother rehome her dog due to financial hardship, as she is on a limited income and can no longer afford his care. Our priority is finding him a safe, stable, and experienced home.
He is loving, loyal, and very protective, and bonds closely with his person. He does have past food insecurity, which has led to food-guarding behavior. He must be fed separately in a calm, structured environment.
There have been two bite incidents: one related to food guarding and one while protecting the home. For this reason, he needs an adult-only home with an experienced owner who understands guarding behaviors and can provide consistent structure and training.
This is a difficult decision, but we want the best possible future for him.
