Waverly is a natural-born agility dog and a model, jumping over logs and onto benches with ease, and posing very beautifully for photos. She is incredibly friendly, affectionate, and wiggly with humans, and loves to give hugs. She is so attentive and very quick to show off her `sit.`Waverly is currently enjoying time in a short-term foster home, and she is proving to be a wonderful houseguest who is ready for a forever family. It took Waverly a little time to settle into her foster home, but once she did, she adjusted beautifully. She is fully house trained and has not had a single accident. Waverly is also crate trained and sleeps quietly through the night, happily snoozing in her crate when her foster family is away.Waverly walks easily on leash with no pulling, making outings calm and enjoyable. While she can become excited when she notices other dogs, she redirects well with treats and guidance and continues to improve each day. Her foster has been mindful to keep walks calm and not too overstimulating as Waverly continues to build confidence.Affectionate and people-oriented, Waverly loves greeting new friends and happily gives kisses. She has met neighbors, including children, and did wonderfully—she especially seems to love kids. She also met a male contractor outside the home and was friendly and confident during that interaction. At one year old, she has a nice medium energy level and, now that she has settled in, is fairly relaxed for her age.Waverly knows “sit,” takes treats gently, and is working on “come.” She enjoys toys that squeak and loves chewing on a good bone. In the home she has been respectful, choosing appropriate toys and bones rather than household items. She can occasionally be curious about sounds around the house, but she settles quickly and enjoys staying close to her people.Her favorite place is stretched out across someone’s lap, soaking up love. Waverly is truly a “velcro dog” who enjoys being near her people and thrives on affection and companionship. She also adores children and has been lovely with a nine-year-old in her foster home.While she has not yet been formally introduced to the resident dogs, she has been hearing and seeing them through doors and has become much more relaxed around their presence as the week has gone on. With continued structure and time to feel secure, she is likely to keep building on this progress.Waverly is a sweet, well-mannered young dog
