Meet herbert #1

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Herbert finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Herbert | 1.5-Year-Old Mixed Breed | Sweet, Snuggly, and Ready to Love Herbert is embracing his second chance at life with a full heart and a wagging tail! This 1.5-year-old, 45-pound brown beauty has settled beautifully into foster care and is ready to find a family of his own. With soulful eyes and an affectionate spirit, Herbert absolutely adores his people. He’s a world-class snuggler who will gently rest his head on you, offer a paw for attention, and happily roll over for belly rubs. Whether he’s cuddled up on the couch or shadowing you around the house, Herbert thrives on connection and companionship. The exciting news? Herbert recently graduated from a board-and-train program and comes with lifetime training support to help set him and his future family up for continued success. He is food- and toy-motivated, eager to please, and responds best to structure and consistency — which makes him a wonderful student. Herbert is house trained, kennel trained, and walks nicely on leash (as with any dog, accidents can happen while adjusting to a new environment). He already knows “sit” and “come” and is proud to show off his skills — especially if snacks are involved. He can get along well with other dogs with the right introduction and continued guidance. He would do best with older children and in a home committed to maintaining his training and providing clear structure and positive reinforcement. Herbert loves walks, toys, bones, and, of course, his people. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who will give you his whole heart (and then some), Herbert might just be your perfect match. He’s ready for his next chapter — could it be with you?   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
