Cornbread is a gentle, sweet girl who was found as a stray alongside another dog, so while her past is a mystery, her time in the shelter has helped us learn just how special she is. She can be shy with new people and needed time to feel safe, spending lots of quiet moments in the staff office building trust and learning the basics like walking on leash. With patience, tasty treats, and plenty of kindness, she’s discovered that humans aren’t so scary after all. Cornbread absolutely loves other dogs and seems to gain confidence by following the lead of socially savvy canine friends, happily joining them in the play yard for chase games, play bows, and silly fun. Watching other dogs enjoy attention has helped her open up, and she’s started to seek out gentle affection in her own sweet way. Cornbread is still learning about the world and will thrive with a patient adopter who is willing to go slow and let her blossom at her own pace—once she trusts you, you’ll find an incredibly loving and tender companion.
