Meet indy
Indy is one of the most beautiful dogs I’ve ever seen, which is what drew me to her when I saw her on the shelter website. She is low to medium energy, gets along well with my other dog, and is a sweet, spunky girl who always seems to be smiling. I am attached to her, but am considering seeking another placement because of my cats.
While she has not hurt any of my cats, she does have a strong prey drive and likes to chase them. This often creates a chaotic environment in my house and is causing at least one of my cats a great deal of stress. It is a bit of a game to Indy but the cats are unwilling participants and I’m not sure if it is fair to continue this long term.
She has been with me for three months. I never leave her around my cats unsupervised because while she has not hurt them during interactions so far, I do not trust that she wouldn’t if left to her own devices. This is why I am thinking she might be better off in a cat-free home.
