Meet raffaele
Be the happy ending to Raffaele's story!
After his family checked out of a hotel, they left him behind in the room. An AHS Animal Protection Officer, Kasey, responded to the call and brought him to safety but the confusion and heartbreak were already there. Raffaele arrived at the shelter understandably devastated and nervous, a world away from the home he once knew.
Little by little, he’s finding his footing. With patience, kindness, and encouragement from staff and volunteers, Rafe is slowly coming out of his shell. There’s a sensitive, soulful boy underneath it all, and every day we get to see a little more of him.
We can’t pretend to know what went through his mind in those lonely hours, but we can promise this: his next chapter will be different. His next family will cherish him the way he deserves.
Raffaele is about 55 pounds, already neutered, and waiting at AHS Newark to meet someone who will never leave him behind again.
