WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care. Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. She thrives with routine, patience, and gentle handling, and would benefit greatly from having another calm, confident dog in the home to help her feel secure.Why did they come to WISE: Showgirl spent her entire life as a breeding dog in a puppy mill. When her 'breeders' decided they no longer had a use for her, they planned to discard her. Thankfully, WISE was able to step in and rescue her giving her a second chance to experience the love and warmth of a real home. Now shes ready to start that new chapter!Personality:Showgirl is incredibly sweet, gentle, and affectionate once she feels safe. She adores being close to her trusted person and will happily curl up beside you or climb into your lap for snuggles. She is mellow and happiest simply being in your company. During the day, she enjoys relaxing in her own dog bed and is comfortable when left alone.KIDS:Showgirl is good with children, but the noise and activity of a busy household can be stressful for her. An adult-only home is strongly preferred.DOGS: Yes! Showgirl loves other dogs and gains confidence from them. A calm canine companion would be ideal.CATS: YesTraining:Showgirl is fully house-trained and does very well with a consistent routine. She reliably goes to the bathroom in the backyard and follows a predictable daily schedule. She sleeps in bed with her person at night.She is shy at first and can be easily overwhelmed by noise, movement, or unfamiliar people, but with patience, she settles and shows her loving side.
