Hi, my name is Benji and I am from Missouri!
From his foster: Are you looking for a dog that will be your constant companion? Benji is on the shyer side but once he feels comfortable, he will be devoted to you. He is potty trained when let out regularly but can also use pads in emergencies. He does alright in a crate but doesn't need one. He currently lives with other dogs and looks to them for guidance and comfort. He does well with gentle kids. If you want to share your home with a kind, ethereal soul, Benji just may be the dog for you!
From the Vet:
Benji has been under the care of The Bond Between for a few months now while we address a few medical concerns. He will certainly need a special home, but he is now well managed for his conditions.
The things he was working through during his time with us included some anemia, skin related issues, and persistent anxiety with associated vomiting and regurgitation.
His management includes a hydrolyzed protein prescription food, however there may be a time in his life he could transition to an over the counter sensitive skin and stomach food.
We determined that he does best in a calm, quiet home with a consistent diet and routine, so a house with people able to provide a slow and compassionate transition into his new home will be the best fit! Because he has a tendency toward anxiety in new situations he may regress in the first few days, but we have full confidence that with a month or two of working through his new normal, he will be a great addition to the family!
