Meet toasty buttercup the cozy couch princess

Meet Toasty Buttercup! Our sweet little sausage with a heart of gold.

Some dogs love their people. Toasty loves everybody.

Seriously, this girl has never met a stranger. Kids, adults, visitors, friends, neighbors, Toasty is convinced they're all wonderful and deserving of love. She has the sweetest, gentlest soul and a calm, affectionate nature that makes people fall for her almost instantly. She's not overly demanding about it either. She'll simply wander over, lean her squishy little body into you, and quietly ask for some love like the polite princess she is.

And have you seen her eyes? Toasty has the most beautiful golden eyes that somehow always look soft, loving, and slightly sleepy all at the same time. Pair those gorgeous eyes with her adorable chunky little build and you've got a girl who is impossible not to adore.

A little over 2.5 years old and around 60 pounds, Toasty is built for cuddling. We lovingly call her our little sausage because she's short, squishy, and absolutely perfect for snuggling up next to on the couch after a long day.

She recently got to enjoy an adventure and proved what an incredible companion she is. She rode beautifully in the car, quietly laying down and enjoying the ride like a seasoned road-trip professional. Once at the trail, she walked like an absolute queen. Loose leash, calm demeanor, happy little tail wagging as she stopped to take in all the sights and smells around her. She's the perfect partner for leisurely family walks, easy hikes, exploring local parks, or simply enjoying time outdoors together.

When it comes to children, Toasty is every bit as wonderful as you'd hope. She has spent time with kids and was calm, gentle, affectionate, and incredibly patient. Her energy is steady and easygoing, making her feel like she's been part of the family forever. The kiddo gave her love, hugs, and treats and Toasty reciprocated with the sweetest kisses and even rolled over to show him her belly.

With other dogs, Toasty is friendly and respectful. She prefers to observe the action rather than be the center of it, often choosing a cozy spot where she can supervise the fun from afar. She's happy to coexist with other dogs and has even shown a playful side with the right canine friends, but she's equally happy soaking up all the attention as your one-and-only girl. In a home, Toasty would do best with another calm relaxed dog that will be happy to lounge around the house together and one that simply enjoys the company of being around another dog. She would also do great as your one and only dog as well because she loves people so much. She's not the kind of dog that needs the company of other dogs to make her feel comfortable or open up, she's already a natural born lover and would actually love to be your little princess.

Toasty isn't looking for a life of chaos or constant excitement. She's looking for family movie nights, slow morning walks, sunny afternoons on the porch, car rides to nowhere in particular, and people to love with her whole heart.

When it comes to training, Toasty loves all the treats and will do anything for a tasty snack. She is eager to please and already knows how to sit, walks easy on a leash, is comfortable in her crate, and from what we can tell she already has great house manners. Toasty will make a great companion if you work from home and will only bug you for some affection every now and then. She has a calm energy about her and is the perfect homebody companion. Her love for treats and her eagerness to please her person will make anything additional training you want to do with her that much enjoyable for you both.

Due to Toasty's easy and adaptable demeanor, there are a lot of different home environments that she would do great in. We can see her living in a home with a backyard, a condo, or even an apartment. She is naturally a calmer girl so a walk around the neighborhood will be just fine to keep her happy and healthy. We can also see her enjoying relaxing on the porch with you on those nice summer evenings while you read your favorite book or just enjoying the nice weather with you. It doesn't take much to make this sweet girl happy, all she needs is her person and all the snuggles.

She is sweet. She is gentle. She is easygoing. She is beautiful. And honestly? She's pretty close to perfect. If you're searching for a loving family dog with golden eyes, endless affection, and world-class cuddle skills, Toasty Buttercup is ready to become your new best friend.

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.
