HOW TO ADOPT: This animal is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this animal, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.---- A sweet, gentle couch potato who loves lounging around; has been spending time in a foster home, and his family said he loves to cuddle and likes to follow them wherever they go- Took a few days of settling into his foster home before he became interested in toys, and now he loves any and all toys; especially enjoys playing tug- Likes to sleep as close to his foster family as possible and snores when he sleeps - Likes observing everything you're doing, whether you're cooking dinner or showering; a bit of a micromanager! - Loves to go for walks and sniff around, and does great on a leash - Has done well in the car and loves to put his paws on the center console and rest his head on your shoulder - Has been housetrained in his foster home and lets them know when he needs to go out; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new schedule - Does best crated when his foster family is gone, but he's a perfect houseguest otherwise and they said he does not get into things when they're home with him- Has had some exposure to children and has been relaxed and cuddly - Was not a fan of dogs in his previous home and has been socially awkward and avoidant of other dogs here; may prefer to be the only dog in his new home (dog intro required) - Needs a home with no cats or small pets - Has been doing great in his foster family's apartment and seems a bit more calm and confident in that type of living situation; did visit a larger house while in his foster home and was more anxious, so if he is going to live in a larger home he may do best being introduced to the full home gradually - May have allergies (more info at ARL) This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
