Meet tatanga

Tatanga recently spent time in a foster home, where he settled in beautifully and showed just how ready he is for a forever family. Once he adjusted to the new environment, he appeared happy, playful, and eager to be part of the household routine. With a consistent schedule that includes several trips outside each day, he quickly developed a good potty routine and has been doing well with structure and clear expectations. He handled bath time like a champ — jumping right into the tub and sitting calmly while being washed with sensitive skin shampoo. He even allowed his foster to gently clean his face with pet wipes, showing what a cooperative and easygoing boy he can be. Tatanga also enjoyed a pet store outing where he picked up essentials like food, a brush, towel, toys, and treats. On walks, Tatanga has made great progress with his leash manners. When he first arrived, he was eager and strong on leash, but with the help of a front-clip harness and a little guidance, he now walks much more calmly and is an enjoyable companion on neighborhood strolls. He has shown little reaction to people while out walking and has happily greeted new friends. He met a trainer at the pet store and immediately soaked up the attention, responding well to direction and enjoying the interaction.Tatanga loves getting out for adventures and exploring new places. He visited Cylburn Arboretum where he happily trotted along the trails, sniffing all the interesting scents along the way. He also enjoyed a visit to a Sniffspot where he could run freely, play fetch, and burn off some energy before happily settling in for a long afternoon nap.In the home, Tatanga showed just how affectionate he truly is. He loves to cuddle — so much so that getting solo photos was nearly impossible because he always wanted to be snuggled up close. He enjoys curling up beside his people, leaning in for belly rubs, and happily chewing on a toy while soaking up affection. His foster describes him as very silly, extremely cuddly, and eager to love and be loved. Tatanga is very food motivated and loves training time. He already knew “sit” and quickly learned new cues like “down,” “place,” “touch,” and “paw.” He is currently working on “stay” and “drop it,” and his eagerness to learn makes training both fun and rewarding.Tatanga has a moderate energy level. He enjoys playing fetch, exploring outside, and occasionally getting the zoomies, but he’s just as happy to relax an
