Zara is a stunning 1.5‑year‑old, 60‑pound Belgian Shepherd who is as smart as she is beautiful. Originally purchased from a breeder, she was surrendered to ACCT Philly when her former owner no longer had time for her. She struggled in the shelter environment at first — overwhelmed, and unsure — but the moment she came into our care, her true self began to shine. With us, Zara settled quickly and has been nothing short of wonderful.

Zara is sweet, affectionate, and incredibly attentive. She bonds deeply with her people and has impressed our volunteers with her intelligence and willingness to connect. She loves interaction, thriving when her mind and body are kept busy. Everything about her reflects the classic Belgian Shepherd traits: alert, sensitive, eager to work, and extremely people‑oriented.

She will do best in a breed‑experienced home that understands how important structure, enrichment, engagement, and training are for a working‑minded dog. She’s young, bright, and ready to learn — she just needs someone who appreciates her brilliance and can give her the activity and guidance she craves.

Zara is looking for a family who will include her in their lives, keep her busy, and let her curl up in front of the fireplace when the day is done. With the right home, she will be an extraordinary companion — loyal, loving, and deeply devoted.
