Meet Smokey Bear 🐻❄️
2-year-old German Shepherd
Smokey Bear is a handsome young German Shepherd who came to us through no fault of his own after his family had to move. He’s a loyal, people-friendly boy who truly enjoys human companionship and is eager to bond with his person.
According to his previous owner, Smokey is potty trained, enjoys car rides, and already knows his basic manners — including sit, stay, and shake. He’s been described as friendly with people and enjoys spending quality time with his humans.
Here at the shelter, Smokey is having a tough time adjusting. He appears very anxious in the shelter environment and is currently reactive toward other dogs. He is not leash-broken yet, but with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, he has the potential to improve greatly once he’s in a calmer home setting.
Smokey has not been around other dogs or cats, so we feel he would do best as an only pet in the home for now. A committed adopter who understands shepherds and can provide structure, training, and reassurance will help Smokey truly shine.
