Meet Winifred 

Winifred is a 5-year-old Boston Terrier with the sweetest soul and a gentle heart. She came to us as a breeder surrender and is learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and confident. At first she can be shy and cautious, but with patience and kindness she truly blossoms.

Winnie enjoys calm environments, cozy naps, and taking things at her own pace. She’s been making beautiful progress every day, celebrating small victories like going up and down the stairs on her own or walking more confidently on the streets. She would thrive in a home that understands her past, respects her boundaries, and is excited to watch her continue to grow.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will bond deeply and reward you with constant affection, Winifred might be your perfect match.

Winifred has a deeply affectionate personality and can form a strong bond with her person very quickly. Once she trusts you, she’ll happily follow you everywhere. As she leaves her fear behind, her true self is starting to shine: she’s becoming more curious, playful, and confident each day. Beneath her gentle nature is a growing energetic spirit, and she’s on her way to becoming a dog who will love plenty of exercise, long walks, and active adventures with her future family.

Winifred is highly possessive of her person and cannot live with other pets. She was involved in a serious altercation with another dog in the home, and for everyone’s safety she must be placed as the only pet. Winifred will do best in a household where she is the sole focus and does not have to share people or space with other animals.

She is a low-shedding dog and is very well-behaved indoors: she does not destroy furniture or belongings. She is not fully potty trained yet, as she is just beginning to go outside on walks, but she is making progress. With consistency, patience, and continued training, she is expected to quickly get the hang of it.

ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs.

Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States and Korea.
