Onigiri spent most of his life with one family, believing he was home for good—only to be surrendered in his golden years when he no longer fit into their plans. The sudden change left him anxious at first, especially around men, and understandably unsure of the world he’d been dropped into.
But after spending the past month in a loving foster home, Onigiri has blossomed into a completely different dog. He now seeks out people, thrives on companionship, and has a special soft spot for children. He’s gentle, affectionate, and happy just being near his humans.
Onigiri also gets along well with other dogs and cats, making him an easy addition to a multi-pet household. And don’t let the word senior fool you—he still has plenty of playful, joyful energy and loves to have fun.
Onigiri has already given a lifetime of loyalty. Now he deserves a family who will treasure him for his best years ahead. He is fostered in East Islip, NY, and is available for local or out-of-state adoption as long as the adopter can travel to meet him. We can also bring him to NYC to meet with approved adopters.
