Meet Tator!Tator traveled from Oklahoma to Iowa, looking to have a second shot at life. He is a 7-month-old Lab/Retriever mix that currently is around 40 pounds, but we believe that he will likely land around 45-50 pounds once all filled out, since he still has some growing left to do. Now that Tator is here, he can focus on learning trust, what it is like to be a dog, and how to continue learning new things! Tator can be nervous about being touched at first, but once he feels safe and comes out of his shell, his sweetness shines through. Given his shy behavior, Tator may need a few meets to feel comfortable with new people, so a visit with all resident family members will be needed to make sure that he is a good fit. Although shy with people, he has done great with cats, and shows playful behavior with other dogs, but would still love proper introductions to make sure he would be a good fit! Tator is still building confidence on leash, so a fenced in yard is highly recommended for him at this time. With patience, consistency, gentle guidance, and a steady home to help him blossom, he will continue to grow into a more confident walker.
