After a lifetime of love followed by heartbreaking loss, Nila is hoping her next chapter is a gentle, permanent one. This sweet girl truly shines as an easy, polite companion. She loves cozy cuddles, staying close to her people, and calm companionship. While she does enjoy some playtime, Nila is a gentle soul who fits beautifully into a relaxed home.

Nila can be selective with other dogs — she gets along well with some but not all, so thoughtful introductions are a must. She does best with older children who understand and respect her space, and her compatibility with cats is currently unknown. Nila also has wonderful house manners — she is calm indoors, respectful of her space, and an absolute joy to live with. She has mild incontinence that is very well managed with her daily medication and does not affect her comfort or quality of life.

Nila’s story tugs at the heartstrings. She was raised from puppyhood by devoted owners who passed away last summer. She was adopted shortly after, but tragedy struck again when her adoptive family lost their home in a fire and, through no fault of her own, Nila was returned to the rescue. She is currently safe and loved in a foster home while she waits for the forever family she so deeply deserves.
