Pixie came from a hoarding situation where she didn’t get much affection, so new things and new people can still feel a little scary. But once she warms up, her gentle, happy personality shines through! She’s sweet, treat-motivated, playful, affectionate, and loves to cuddle. Pixie is doing great with house training and leash walking. She’d do best in a home with a friendly mentor dog who can play with her and show her the ropes. A home with no kids, or older kids who understand how to be gentle, would be best since she can get overwhelmed or scared by too much activity. She’s learning that people can be kind, and she loves to snuggle and spend time with her humans. Pixie gets along well with both dogs and cats, but she’d prefer a quieter home with patient people and a gentle, playful doggy friend. With time, love, and reassurance, Pixie is blossoming into the confident, happy pup she’s meant to be.   If you have an open heart and a calm home, Pixie would love to meet you.    Pixie is up to date on vaccines and tested negative for heartworm.  Pixie will be spayed and has a microchip. Her adoption fee is $500.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training   prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through, they deserve a loving, committed home.
