Meet waka
Waka—whose name means “crew” in Māori—was rescued in Whangārei, New Zealand, and later brought to the U.S. Since 2016, she has been a beloved and well-cared-for companion to our mother.
Recently, our mother moved into assisted living, and Waka came to live with us. With an upcoming international relocation, we’re unable to provide the long-term home Waka deserves, so we are looking for a new family where she can truly thrive.
Waka is a healthy, gentle, slightly timid dog who responds well to patience and kindness. Her exact breed is unknown, but we believe she is around 11 years old. She is healthy, enjoys long walks, loves to play, and remains active and engaged. She would do especially well in a loving home where she can feel safe and settled.
Our priority is finding Waka a warm, secure home with someone who will appreciate her sweet nature and give her the consistency she deserves.
