Whitney has healed from her spay and is ready to start searching for her forever home! Here is what her foster family has to say about her “When Whitney first joined us, she spent 24 hours in her kennel on a food and bathroom strike. Looking at her now, it’s hard to believe it’s the same dog. She is one of the most sweet and affectionate dogs (emphasis on affectionate). She’s all about tail wags, giving kisses, and being pet. If we’re hanging out on the couch, she’s right there with us, more often than not on someone’s lap. She’s a great little snuggler. Whitney is also great with our other dogs and fosters. Introductions were a breeze, and over time she’s started to play with the ones around her size. She’s the type of dog who will do best adjusting to a new home with the help of another dog, so we’re requiring at least one other smaller pup in her forever home (bonus points if they can be an eventual playmate for her). Whitney also likes to play with toys. It’s been sweet to watch her figure them out and see which toys she likes since she’s never had them before. We don’t put her in a kennel when we leave the house since she’s always been non-destructive. She is also potty trained. She’s been a great little house guest and not your typical Chihuahua. She doesn’t have a lot of energy, and we haven’t heard a peep out of her. Maybe one day she’ll find her voice, but for now she’s silent. Whitney still tends to be shy sometimes, so she’ll need an adopter that understands that. With that, she’s a no-go for kids under high-school age. Whitney is a special little girl who is going to make someone feel very lucky!” Whitney is a 1 year old Chihuahua mix weighing 15lbs. *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash or a check made out to Rescue Row):

Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee 

Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee 

Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs.
