This sweet little 14-year-old Chihuahua was surrendered to us just last week. It’s taken a few days, but she’s finally settling in and beginning to understand that the only family she’s ever known has let her go. She spent her entire life with them, so this transition hasn’t been easy on her tender heart.
She came to us with a rather unusual name, but her foster mom quickly started calling her Sugar Cookie—or Sugar for short—and it fits her perfectly. 🤍
Sugar is a quiet, gentle soul. While she isn’t overly affectionate yet, she’s still decompressing and learning that she’s safe. What she is, though, is incredibly easy. At just 9 pounds, she may be one of the lowest-maintenance dogs we’ve ever had. No drama, no demands—just a calm little companion who wants a soft place to land and someone patient enough to let her open up at her own pace.
