Meet millie_la

Meet Millie, our sweet little lady with Southern charm, a wagging tail, and a very serious love of snacks. This 3-year-old, 18lb fox terrier mix came all the way from Louisiana to find her forever home, and she’s brought plenty of personality with her.Millie’s signature move is the happy hop-hello - a burst of joyful bouncing to say hi - quickly followed by, “Okay, where’s the couch?” She loves a good walk, a little attention, and then happily settles in nearby with a toy. She’s not a lap dog or a Velcro pup, but she’s an excellent next-to-you companion. She’s fully crate trained, and is house-trained (as long as you pick up on her signals/know her routine). Millie does best being crated when home alone - she’s a cheerful chewer and might mistake shoes or pillows for acceptable snacks if left unsupervised. Millie loves food (deeply) and is learning her manners. She’s already figuring out that counters are not buffets and that humans need personal space while eating. She’ll do great with continued basic training and lots of chew toys - especially if they squeak. Millie is also a fan of walks. She’s done well with other dogs, greeting politely and knowing when playtime is over. Cats get a little curiosity and a few barks at first, but once they’re out of sight, she couldn’t care less. Millie is generally calm, rarely barks, and isn’t bothered by the noise or unpredictability of kids- she’s happy to sit back and take it all in. If you’re looking for a dog with a little Louisiana flair, a lot of heart, and the perfect balance of playful and peaceful, Millie is ready to bring her Southern sweetness home with you.If you’d like to take Millie home, please fill out an adoption application at this link – https://animalalliesrescue.org/dog-application. The adoption fee is $350 and covers all expenses needed to prepare dogs like this one for their forever homes. By the time you meet them, they’ve already been spayed/neutered (if age-appropriate) and microchipped. They’ve been checked by a veterinarian and are up to date on necessary vaccinations, including Rabies and DHLPP. They have also been tested for heartworm and tick-borne diseases and have started heartworm and flea preventative medication. Some of our dogs have even undergone extensive medical care to ensure they’re ready for a happy, healthy life with you!
