Mindy is a 5ish month old Great Pyr mix puppy who was found with her sibling Lily. Mindy needs to be the only dog in the home... Mindy is in a foster home and we are told: "Mindy loves her crate, hangs out in it when she doesn’t have to, doesn’t cry when locked in it and is crate and potty trained already. She has not had a single potty accident since we’ve had her. She’s shy and timid and so sweet. We sometimes forget she’s here, she’ll just rest under a chair for hours. Obviously she is still adjusting and will come out of her shell eventually, but she has spoiled us as fosters cause she’s too easy. She’s still timid, and doesn’t like being approached, so it's on her time once she is comfortable. She will move away, so we are just letting her come up to us for pets when she’s feeling brave enough and she’s starting to do it more. She will also follow you but just feels most complete at arms length. She’s super sweet and will no doubt get over this and be very loving, the only thing I we believe is a home with small loud kids constantly trying to go after her is NOT what she is needing. She is good with adults coming around, but small kids could set her back."

**** Puppies are a lot of work, and if you are interested in one of these puppies and have children, you should check out GRRAND policies page before you read further… In a nutshell, GRRAND policies stipulate a few important things that may stop you from applying

A: GRRAND will NOT place a puppy under the age of 6 months with families with children under 6 yrs old

B: Any applicant with children under the age of 16, will require a home with direct access to a securely fenced yard… so this means no apartments or condos

Apartments and condos can also be tricky for adult only households, as puppies can be whiny and loud, and may make too much noise for the neighbors as well

Mindy is looking for a home with a fenced in yard as she is a Great Pyr and they love to roam and patrol, and do that best in a safe and secure area, and families with LOTS of time and patience to socialize and work with a puppy so she can grow up to be a good dog! Exercise and direction are a must for these little ones as a tired puppy is a good puppy!! They have boundless amounts of playful energy and need a constant outlet for it!
