Meet petunia flower

* Now fostered in the Indianapolis, IN area *

Meet Petunia! This adorable 7-month-old Lab mix puppy is a sweet, social girl who loves people, dogs, kids, and being part of an active family. Currently thriving in her foster home with multiple dogs, a cat, and young children, Petunia has proven to be a loving, adaptable pup who fits right into busy family life.

This cutie comes from one of the most urgent areas in the U.S. for homeless pets, where shelters are sadly having to euthanize puppies due to lack of space. By choosing to adopt Petunia, you’re not only saving her life, you’re also opening a space for another dog in need.

Petunia is a sweet, playful, curious, and affectionate girl who is thriving in her foster home. She currently lives with four large adult dogs, a puppy around her age, an indoor cat, and two young kids (ages 1 and 3) and she is loving the active family life! She has proven to be wonderfully social and adaptable. Petunia is great at reading cues from other dogs, making her a respectful and easy companion in a multi-dog household.

She absolutely adores people and is incredibly loving with everyone she meets. She enjoys being part of the daily activity in the home and fits right into the fun of family life. Whether she’s playing outside, especially when there’s snow to romp around in, or curling up for some affection, Petunia is happiest when she’s around her people.

Petunia has a great balance of playful puppy energy and cuddly sweetness. She enjoys bouncing around with her dog friends, exploring the yard, and then settling down for cozy naps. She has been gentle and affectionate with the young children in her foster home and comfortable around the family cat.

Petunia is still young and will need a family committed to training, socialization, and all the dedication puppyhood requires. Puppies discover new things every day that help shape their personalities. Implementing routine, structure, boundaries, and proper socialization from the start is essential. We require adoptive families to crate train their puppy immediately upon arrival in their new home, which helps with potty training, energy management, and developing a well-balanced adult dog.

Petunia would thrive in a home that is ready for the fun and adventure of raising a puppy. She would love a family of any size that enjoys spending time together, whether that’s playing in the yard, going for walks, or relaxing at home after a day of activity. Because she is so social and has done wonderfully with other dogs, she would enjoy having a canine sibling, but she would also be ok as an only dog, soaking up all the attention. She has already shown she can do great with kids and has been gentle and affectionate with the young children in her foster home. Most of all, Petunia is looking for a family who will continue guiding her with patience, structure, and lots of love as she grows into an amazing lifelong companion.
