ATTENTION: These animals are strays and were found without an owner. They are currently in a stray hold period and are not yet available for adoption.

SoHumane will hold all stray dogs and cats for a minimum of 7 days, starting from the day they are brought into our shelter.

If you believe this animal is yours, please come to visit us at SoHumane with proof of ownership:
1.    Valid Identification: If the owner can provide a government-issued ID that matches the name and address associated with the pet's microchip or license.
2.    Microchip Registration: If the owner's contact information is registered with the pet's microchip, and they can provide documentation or proof of registration.
3.    Veterinary Records: If the owner can provide veterinary records or other documentation that proves ownership, such as a bill of sale or adoption paperwork.
4.    Photos: If the owner can provide recent photos of themselves with the pet or photos that show unique identifying features, such as markings or scars.

To ensure the health and safety of all animals at our shelter, SoHumane has established a policy that every animal brought in as a stray will receive basic vaccines and microchipping upon arrival. By vaccinating each animal upon arrival, we can help prevent the spread of disease to other animals at the shelter and reduce the risk of illness for the animals in our care. Microchipping each animal also helps to ensure that if the animal is lost again in the future, they can be quickly identified and reunited with their owner. This helps to prevent animals from becoming long-term residents of our shelter
It is important to note that the animal may be receiving further medical treatment, as determined by our Vet Care Team. We prioritize the health and well-being of all animals in our care and will do our best to ensure that this animal receives the appropriate medical attention.
