Meet Joan, a resilient, sweet-natured girl with a heart of gold and a personality that is impossible not to fall in love with. This survivor treats every day as a gift and every stranger as a new best friend. Joan is a wonderful mix of adventure and affection; she loves going on car rides, trotting along on walks and is just as eager to cuddle up on the couch for shoulder scratches and face rubs.

Despite enduring a past of severe neglect—arriving with an infected neck wound, eye, ear, and skin infections, fractured teeth, a tail fracture, and mammary tumors—her gentle spirit remained completely unbroken. The NHA veterinary team immediately stepped in to clear her infections and heal her wounds, showing her for the first time what it feels like to be safe and cared for.

Joan is ready to leave her past behind and start her ultimate adventure with a devoted forever family who will continue her journey into her next chapter and shower her with the unconditional love she so deeply deserves.
