Gingerbread is a gentle hound mix who may be a little shy at first—but give her a moment, and you’ll discover the goofiest girl and the very best buddy to other dogs. While she can be unsure around new people, her confidence has been steadily growing, and she’s truly blossoming.

She walks beautifully on leash alongside another dog in quieter areas. In busier neighborhoods, she can still get a bit nervous—sometimes pausing or lying down as a motorcycle or bus passes—but she always gets back up and keeps moving forward. Gingerbread has been incredibly brave on her confidence journey and continues to improve every day. With a gentle, encouraging nudge, she shows just how capable she really is—and watching her bloom is something special.

Once she feels safe, her personality shines. Gingerbread is silly, affectionate, playful, and deeply loving. She forms strong bonds with her people and, in true hound fashion, is a foodie, an expert snuggler, and occasionally delightfully distractible.

She’s looking for an adopter who will cheer her on as she settles into her forever home. Gingerbread would thrive with another dog to help boost her confidence, along with a patient, understanding person committed to supporting her growth. (While another dog is ideal, it’s not required for the right adopter.) A quieter neighborhood would suit her best.

Gingerbread is fostered in Reading (Berks County), Pennsylvania, and is ready to find her family.
