Gingerbread is a gentle hound mix who has been learning that the world can be a safe and kind place. She can be shy with new people at first, but with patience and consistency, her confidence is steadily growing and she is blossoming beautifully. Watching her take those small steps forward is incredibly rewarding.

She is currently still a little nervous on a leash, but Gingerbread is being very brave and working through it beautifully. She does best when given a gentle push to help her realize she’s capable of more than she thinks.

Gingerbread will do best in a home with another dog to help her overall confidence and a patient, understanding adopter who is willing to encourage her growth. A quieter, rural or country setting would suit her best right now.

Once she feels safe, her personality shines through. Gingerbread is silly, loving, playful and affectionate, and she forms deep bonds with her people. In true hound fashion, she is a foodie, expert snuggler and easily distracted at times. She is looking for an adopter who will be there to cheer her on through every milestone as she settles into a furever home. 

Gingerbread is fostered in Reading (Berks County), Pennsylvania and is ready to join a family.

Gingerbread is part of our Meet Me Program: Dogs featured in our Meet Me Program are participating simply because their foster or a dedicated volunteer is willing and able to take part—this is not based on breed, personality, behavior, or how long a dog has been waiting for a home. Because Mostly Muttz Rescue does not have a physical shelter location, this program allows adopters to connect directly with the people who know each dog best. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions, learn more about daily life with the dog, and even schedule an individual meet & greet at an approved location—either before applying or while your application is pending.
