Mookie Is Still Waiting… and She’s So Ready Back on December 2, Mookie got her second chance on Giving Tuesday.Now she’s patiently waiting for her forever one.
Mookie is estimated to be a 3-year-old, 47 lb pocket pittie with cow-print coloring, a tiny “moo” bark, and the sweetest, most soulful heart. She may not be the loudest dog in the room — but when she chooses you, she chooses you for life.
Her PersonalityMookie is a deep bonder. She doesn’t just like her person — she attaches in the most beautiful way and becomes your little shadow. Outside with her human? Her butt never stops wiggling.
She’s goofy and joyful, bouncing around on her spring-loaded back legs like she has built-in pogo sticks. She loves rolling in the grass, adored the snow (complete with bunny hops), and always carries one of her tough toys — her “baby” — outside with her. If she accidentally leaves it behind, just ask, “Where’s your baby?” and she’ll proudly go find it and bring it back inside.
She has a charming “party eye,” snores like a freight train, and absolutely melts for happy, high-pitched voices.
A Little Shy — But So Worth ItMookie can be shy at first with new people, but she has made wonderful progress in foster care. Proper introductions make all the difference. Meet her outside, toss a ball around, use a cheerful voice — and you’ll win her heart quickly.
Once she trusts you, you have her forever. She bonds deeply, loves fiercely, and just wants to be near her person.
She needs someone patient and willing to earn that trust — but the payoff is extraordinary.
Smart Girl in TrainingMookie is actively working on clicker training in her foster home and thriving with structure.
• Mastered “sit”• Currently learning “place”• Working on not jumping on the back door (progress happening!)• Crate trained (she settles beautifully once inside — she just prefers to be carried in like the princess she is)• Potty trained• Extremely food and toy motivated
Every night she enjoys her special routine: a WOOF ball filled with yogurt, which helps her wind down and get ready for bed. Structure makes her feel safe — and she flourishes with it.
