Quiet and a bit reserved at first, she prefers to take her time with new people, but once she feels comfortable, she shows a sweet and affectionate side. China Grove is already a favorite among volunteers who appreciate her peaceful demeanor and thoughtful way of connecting. She's looking for a calm, patient home where she can settle in at her own pace. In return, she'll be a loyal, easygoing companion who forms a strong, genuine bond.During playgroups, China Grove makes it clear that she prefers to keep to herself and isn't very interested in canine social time. She's a no-nonsense kind of gal with a short fuse, and she's quick to let other dogs know when she wants space. Even with a respectful male who tried to engage her, China Grove politely but firmly declined the invitation to play. She consistently shows that she prefers the company of people over dogs and is happiest when her boundaries are understood and respected.Although she is heartworm positive, it is treatable and not contagious. Friends of Wake County Animal Center has provided a $600 sponsorship to help cover the cost of treatment.She is already spayed and up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm prevention, and is microchipped. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time.
