Meet jiminy cricket

Jiminy Cricket joined the CVHS crew when his size and energy level became too much for his owner`s mobility issues, and she knew he needed a home better suited to his needs. She told us he loves to play, and will even play fetch by himself, releasing a ball at the top of a hill, and chasing it as it rolls down! He knows his various toys by name, he likes playing in water (but not taking walks in the rain), enjoys a little human attention after all his physical needs are met, and loves to run, especially in a good game of chase with his dog friends.Jiminy is learning to walk nicely on leash, but is still a bit of a puller, especially when he`d rather be playing in the new snow! He`s a very playful and friendly guy, and will do well in a home that recognizes his need for activity. He did spend time with kids under 10, but he`s still a bit jumpy, and learning his size and power, so he should not live with any children. The more time staff spends with Jiminy, the more it seems clear that he is a dog who likes to play, but is not a cuddling, snuggling, or really even an affectionate dog; he`s simply too busy for those things. He really prefers his own space; he does not need to follow you around the house, and would appreciate having space to hang out and do his own thing, without people needing his constant attention.A 5-week Good Manners training course is included in Jiminy Cricket`s $350.00 adoption fee. Please call the Adoption Center at 802-476-3811, or email info@centralvermonthumane.org, to schedule a time to talk to an adoption counselor about him, and to determine if you should meet Jiminy Cricket.
