Lucky is searching for a patient and committed, preferably female, adopter that will help him feel safe enough to be his best self. He is looking for someone who understands that confidence and trust takes time to build, and that the journey is worth the wait!
Lucky could live in a home with another calm and confident dog. He gets along well with female dogs and tends to be selective when making male dog friends, but he'll give it a shot! He would also enjoy being your only dog and soaking up all of your love.
Lucky isn't looking for a big social calendar; he'd much prefer to hang out with the people he trusts most. He will even benefit from a designated safe space in the home when visitors come over. But that doesn't mean that he doesn't want to leave the house! On the contrary; Lucky loves car rides, exploring the great outdoors, dipping his toes in ponds and rivers, rolling in mud, walking downtown to people watch, and even attending training classes! After an exciting day, he will want to cuddle up with you (preferably on top of you) all evening.
Lucky takes time to feel comfortable around new people, and a little extra time with men, but once he bonds with you he is a fiercely loyal companion! He cannot live with cats or small animals and he can be nervous around small children, but would likely be okay with dog savvy teenagers.
