Meet sage
Sage is about 2 years old, a bully mix, and weighs around 55 lbs. She was rescued from the euthanasia list at IACS on November 5th, over a year ago, after struggling with intense kennel stress. Since then, she has remained in boarding & safe, but without a true home to call her own.
And oh, how she has grown 🌱
Sage has made tremendous progress and shows just how much potential lives within her. She’s still very much a puppy at heart — full of energy, curiosity, and joy.
🖤 Her Magic Includes:
✨ Loves tug, chasing balls (bringing them back is optional 😉)
✨ Car rides are her happy place — she becomes extra affectionate and loving
✨ Knows sit and down and is eager to learn more (treats = instant motivation)
✨ Sweet, people-loving, and so ready to please
✨ Mouthy at times, but redirects beautifully with toys or treats
🌙 What Sage Needs to Thrive:
Sage is looking for an experienced, patient handler who understands that magic takes time. She does resource guard, so respecting her boundaries is key — especially around food (she does great when her bowl is left alone until she’s finished).
🐾 Home Preferences:
• Ideally an only dog
• May live with another dog only with slow, structured introductions (large male dogs preferred)
• Has lived with a cat before, but would need separate feeding and slow intros
• A home committed to continuing her growth, possibly with training support
✨ We know we may be asking the universe for a “unicorn home”, but Sage is a once-in-a-lifetime kind of soul — and her person is out there. If no one steps forward, her quality of life remains at risk, and that is a spell we are desperately trying to break.
