Meet Arcane — lovingly nicknamed Rhubarb in her foster home — a gentle 2-year-old pup with a tender heart and a soul that just needs time to feel safe. Arcane is quiet, shy, and nervous when first experiencing new people and places, but she is very food-motivated, which helps her build confidence through slow, kind introductions. Big changes can feel overwhelming for her (even unexpected things like boots in the hallway!), so she’s learning the world one brave step at a time. At home with her foster, Arcane truly shines. She loves to cuddle, is becoming more playful, and follows her person everywhere like a little shadow. Once she trusts you, she’ll happily curl up in your lap and soak up affection. She bonds deeply with her people and does best when allowed to move at her own pace. She has also shown sweet progress with visitors — timid at first, but curious and gentle. With patience, she warms up and enjoys pets, eventually settling in nearby for a cozy nap. Her favorite treats include apples and cheese, and her healed head wound is just waiting for the fur to grow back in. Arcane would thrive in a calm, patient home where she can decompress, feel secure, and continue blossoming into the loving companion she’s meant to be. With time, treats, and gentle reassurance, this shy girl has so much love waiting to be shared. Arcane is staying in a foster home and is not at the shelter.
