Meet spot

Meet Spot! This 3-year-old, 79-pound gentle giant is the definition of a loyal, easygoing companion. He’s fully housetrained with a solid routine and hasn’t had any accidents in his foster home. When left alone, Spot is perfectly content snoozing in his crate or lounging on the couch—no fuss, no stress. He’s also been wonderfully respectful and calm around the resident pets, showing off his excellent manners.Spot is a big boy with a big heart. While he can’t go on walks just yet as he continues to heal, he’s known to start off a bit strong on leash thanks to his enthusiasm, then settle into a nice rhythm. Right now, he’s focusing on rest and recovery, with lower energy levels to help his body heal—but once he’s cleared, he’ll be ready to get back to his regular routine. He already knows “sit” and “stay,” and he’s a huge fan of toys—especially stuffed ones and balls (bonus: he doesn’t destroy them!). He also enjoys puzzles and enrichment activities, making him a great match for someone who can keep his mind engaged. Spot is incredibly people-loving and thrives on connection. He adores snuggling and being close to his humans, but he can also relax independently when needed.Spot has met new people during his time in foster and has done great. He may occasionally bark if he’s unsure at first, but with a proper introduction, he warms up quickly and shows his affectionate, friendly nature. Spot has met kids and has proven to be a gentle companion! He has also met other dogs at BARCS and is a social guy, often preferring chase play.Spot is the kind of dog who will thrive with an adopter ready for a big, loving, and engaging companion. He’ll do best in a home that can provide both the mental and physical stimulation he needs to truly shine.Spot is currently in the comfort of a foster home. If you`re interested in meeting him, please complete an application and email dogfosters@barcs.org for next steps!
