Meet handsome Dakota! He was surrendered to the shelter on 10/29 because he was being destructive and someone in the family wasn't being very kind to him. It was noted that Dakota is dog-friendly, but he needs work on his house-training skills. The volunteers describe Dakota as very energetic and athletic. He is a herding dog breed who will do best in a family who can keep him physically and mentally stimulated. A destructive dog is often a bored dog with no structure. Crate training and lots of activity will do wonders for Dakota. He will sit briefly when asked, and is very jumpy when excited. He'll need someone patient and kind to work with him on basic manners. If you can meet Dakota's needs, please come meet him! With a little refinement, he'll make a wonderful BFF!!

Dakota is approximately 10 months old, and weighs 51 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines, and did test negative for heartworms. He will be neutered and microchipped upon adoption. Dakota is waiting in run 809; his ID # is 14720.
