Meet Ruffles!

A joyful almost one-year-old Great Pyrenees currently in Hollister, CA, whose essence is a heart as big as his 105-pound frame and a fluffy white coat that catches the sunlight like a cloud come to life.

Ruffles may be young, but he already has a résumé most pups could only dream of! He spent his first summer watching over a small herd of goats, proving he has the instincts and heart of a true guardian. But don’t let the working-dog background fool you, Ruffles is just as happy cuddling with people as he is keeping an eye on his animal companions. He’s a total sweetheart who thrives on company, whether it’s dogs, cats, or his human friends. Outgoing, affectionate, and eager to please, Ruffles brings a gentle, easy-going energy into every space he enters.

This boy is bright, he’s already figured out how to unlatch gates (clever guy!) and knows basic cues like “come” and “sit.” He hasn’t had formal obedience training yet, but with his smarts and friendly nature, he’s more than ready to learn. Ruffles will absolutely shine in a family that understands guardian breeds and is ready to give him structure, purpose, and love. He’s neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, vet-checked, and healthy, ready to start the next chapter of his big, beautiful life!

Ruffles is happiest when he has a job to do or a buddy by his side. While he enjoys being outside, he needs more than just room to roam, he craves connection and playtime. He’ll do best in a rural setting with a securely fenced yard (he can dig when bored) and a family that includes him in their daily lives. Chickens may not be his thing, but dogs, cats, and kids? Absolutely!

With his thick, luxurious coat, Ruffles will need regular brushing to keep him looking and feeling his best. But he’s more than worth the effort, this gentle giant is all heart, and he’s ready to share it!
