Meet sadie
We are looking to find a sanctuary for Sadie, our 8 year old Lacy/Terrier mix we had since 2019. She is a wonderful, healthy, and loving dog that unfortunately has bitten 4 people that has resulted in facial stitches. Her reaction is somewhat predictable but we have been unable to train her out of it, occurring when non-family members put their faces close to her for pets when she is lying down and she feels momentarily alarmed. She does not cross the room, go after people, nor hold onto her bite, and is not otherwise aggressive. Fortunately, she has never bitten any of her human family or her dog friends. Although she would not harm family, we do not want to put our friends/strangers or her at possible risk. We have a 4-year old daughter who will want to bring friends over to the house in the next few years, and want to ensure safety. I am trying to give her the best life possible for the short term, but realize that it is not a permanent solution. Needs a professional behaviorist.
