Meet ritz
❤️ MEET RITZ — PROFESSIONAL HOMEBODY, PART-TIME WEIRDO & FULL-TIME LOVE BUG ❤️
Ritz has been with us for nearly a year, and we would really, really love for his person to finally find him.
We know somewhere out there is someone who isn’t looking for the dog who shines at an adoption event. They’re looking for the dog who will shine at home with them and that’s Ritz. 🥹
You might wonder how this handsome, short little 40 pound guy has been overlooked for so long.
Well… Ritz is kind of a mess at adoption events. 😂
Can you blame him? People everywhere. Dogs everywhere. Cats. Kids. Noise. Strangers wanting to say hello. Ritz would like to formally decline participation in all of that nonsense.
He’s a homebody.
Give this boy a house, a fenced backyard, a pond to splash around in, and his people nearby, and suddenly you get to see the REAL Ritz. ❤️
He currently lives with four other dogs and does great with his crew. Dogs he doesn’t know can make him nervous, though, and sometimes he’s not quite sure what to do with those feelings.
Can he go for walks? Absolutely! He enjoys exploring, but Ritz notices EVERYTHING. A person sitting somewhere he doesn’t expect? Suspicious. Kids suddenly racing around? Questionable. Something out of place?
🚨 Ritz Security Services has been notified. 😂
Do we think he can continue working through some of these things? Absolutely. But we’re not looking for someone who wants to turn Ritz into a social butterfly. We’re looking for someone who can love the dog he already is while helping him become a little braver along the way.
His perfect home would have a fairly normal routine, a fenced backyard, and people who enjoy a calmer home life. Someone patient. Someone who understands that sensitive dogs sometimes need a minute to decide the world isn’t ending.
And in return?
You get a dog who loves deeply.
Ritz loves attention and will happily stay close for pets and snuggles. He’s not bouncing off the walls all day. He’s more of a play for a while, investigate the backyard, make sure everything is secure, then climb onto the couch and call it a day kind of guy.
He does well in his crate and goes in when it’s time to eat. He’s a good boy in the car, too and has been known to fall asleep while gazing into your eyes. 🥹❤️
Honestly, how do you not fall in love with that?
Ritz doesn’t need a perfect person.
He needs his person.
Someone patient enough to let him take things at his own pace. Someone who doesn’t need their dog to love every stranger or attend every event. Someone who sees a sensitive little soul and thinks, “You know what? We can figure life out together.”
Because underneath the nerves and the quirks is one incredibly sweet, funny, loyal little dog who just wants a place where he knows he belongs.
Nearly a year is a long time to wait for forever.
Maybe Ritz has just been waiting for you. ❤️🐾
